Data Modeling is an introduction to the exploration of the dynamic field of data science! Recognizing the profound impact of data in society, you'll explore real-world applications and ethical considerations in working with data. Each week, we will unpack questions like "What part of the story is told by data?" and "How is this data being represented?”. We will not only cover the essential principles of data modeling but also introduce you to powerful free tools such as Google Sheets, Python, Colab, and CODAP, equipping you with the skills to navigate the world of data with confidence. Throughout the course, you will engage in project-based units, becoming adept data explorers. These hands-on experiences will deepen your understanding of crucial data science concepts: including data analysis, sampling, bias and data ethics, probability, modeling with data, and making and evaluating data-based arguments. This course is adapted from YouCubed, a high school Data Science course created by Stanford professors.
